Frequently Asked Questions
As a small business, we pride ourselves on personal attention and dedication to every detail. Our approach is rooted in quality and integrity, ensuring that everything we do reflects our commitment to excellence.
What areas do you serve?
Stewart Mobile Notary & Business Solutions proudly serves the Piedmont Triad region, including Winston-Salem, Greensboro, High Point, and surrounding areas. Travel to other parts of North Carolina may be available upon request, with mileage-based pricing.
What do I need to bring to my notary appointment?
Please have a valid, government-issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license or passport). All documents should be complete — but unsigned — before your appointment, as signatures must occur in the notary’s presence.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Payment is due at the time of service. Most major payment types are accepted, including cash, debit/credit cards, and digital payment options such as Cash App, Venmo, or PayPal. Checks are not accepted.
Can a notary refuse to notarize a document?
Yes. Stewart Mobile Notary & Business Solutions reserves the right to refuse service if identification cannot be verified or if it is believed that any information is false, fraudulent, or the signer is acting under duress or without full understanding of the document. Notaries in North Carolina are required by law to ensure every signing is voluntary and legitimate.
Do all signers need to be present?
Yes. All signers must appear in person before the notary at the time of signing. This allows the notary to verify each individual’s identity and confirm they are signing willingly and knowingly, as required by North Carolina law.
Do you offer notary or business services in languages other than English?
At this time, Stewart Mobile Notary & Business Solutions only provides services in English. All signers must be able to communicate directly with the notary in English and understand, without the use of a translator, as required by North Carolina notarial law.
Can you notarize a “true copy” or authenticate photographs or documents?
North Carolina notaries cannot certify or notarize true copies of documents, nor can they authenticate photographs.
**Photo verification for insurance, real estate, or other business purposes is an administrative service and is never performed as part of a notarial act.
What should I know about notarizing vehicle titles in North Carolina?
When notarizing a vehicle title in North Carolina, the document must include all required sections completed before signing. This includes the Damage Disclosure Statement, and—if the vehicle is 10 years old or newer—the Odometer Reading and Certification. All owners listed on the title must be present with valid photo identification at the time of notarization.
